How many people can truly say, “I know my purpose?”
Several years ago, I stepped away from the corporate world to answer that question. It’s a question I had been asking myself for 20 years.
As a business leader myself, I have always been passionate about vision and mission. People need meaning to fuel them—especially when they’re venturing into the unknown, trying to survive gut-wrenching challenges and GO BIG. I was the guy who brought the spark plug, the passion, and the courage to make it happen. But when it came to knowing my personal purpose, I couldn’t put my finger on it.
The Journey of Discovery
Through a long process of self discovery and analysis, I finally figured it out…at 60 years old. If only I had known it sooner, how different my life could be. Now I want to help others who aren’t satisfied with just coasting through life. There’s so much more. Life is full of possibilities. You just have to make a decision to discover it.
My personal journey has led to the creation of a framework—a proven process that helps you discover your purpose and calling and set you on the path to living a life of success and significance. A life that lights you up and makes a difference in your world. I just hope you don’t wait until you’re 60 to figure it out.
The Power of Two Words
My personal two word purpose statement is “mobilizing possibilities”. My frustration shows up when individuals or groups come up with a thousand reasons why they’re stuck in a certain situation. That just drives me nuts. Why can’t they see what could be? The outcome—or what I bring to the party—is to help people become fully engaged in identifying all the “possibilities” and “mobilizing” them into action. That is hitting my target.
How My Purpose Played Out in Business
For most of my professional career, this has shown up for me in executing hundreds of strategic initiatives for various businesses around the world with consistent success—in an environment where 80 percent failure is the norm.
My key to success was marrying the individual’s desires, strengths and passions with the collective goal of the business. This was the catalyst for creating the energy, commitment, and conviction to drive a project’s success even in the most difficult environments. It became my personal secret sauce that never failed.
My Purpose Applied Today for Greater Significance
Today, I specifically support business leaders who desire big change, both personally and professionally. That’s the reason I’ve written two books and why I’ve started a movement of Jailbreak Leaders. I want you, as a leader, to see the possibilities in your life, to look beyond the constraints of your jail and to go for it!
This is not only my purpose but my calling…to be blessed to help an individual go after who he or she is meant to be. I cannot imagine a more fulfilling and exciting way to manifest my personal purpose. Whether you are 30, 40, 50 or 60+, IT’S NOT TOO LATE. I have a proven process to get you where you want to go.
That’s my purpose.
If you are ready to discover it, I’d love to guide you on your journey. Check out the Jailbreak Leadership page and get in touch!
